Transcription that never uploads your audio

Your recordings and transcripts stay on your device. D-REC has no server that receives audio, so there is nothing to leak, subpoena or train on.

The question worth asking a transcription service is not whether they promise to keep your audio private. It is whether they receive it at all. A promise is a policy, and policies change with ownership, funding and law.

D-REC does not receive it. The recognition happens on your device, the audio file is written to your device, and the transcript sits beside it. There is no upload step to switch off, because there is no upload step. We could not hand over your recordings under any pressure, because we do not have them.

That matters most in the rooms where it is not really your material to hand over: a source who agreed to talk to you and not to a vendor, a patient, a client, a closed set, an unreleased script, a negotiation. In those rooms the honest answer to "where does this go" should be short.

An account, if you make one, holds your email address and your plan. That is the whole record. It never holds a recording, a transcript, a title, or a word you said.

Speech recognition is imperfect, so verify anything that matters before you rely on it. That is true of every tool in this category, and being local does not change it.
