After an interview, most of the time goes into finding the 20 seconds that mattered, with a scrub bar and a rough memory of when it was said.
D-REC writes the words down as they are spoken and puts the time on each line. Afterwards the transcript is how you move around: find the line, tap it, and the audio plays from that moment. Search works across the whole recording, so a half-remembered phrase is enough to find the quote.
It also breaks a long recording into chapters, each with a title and a short recap, so a 90-minute conversation is a list you can scan.
Nothing you record leaves the device, which matters when a source agreed to talk to you and nobody else. Check any quote against the audio before you publish it, because speech recognition makes mistakes.
