Script supervisor notes with timecode, on the device

Type the slate's timecode once and every line of the transcript carries it. Marks drop at the playhead, chapters break the day into takes, and nothing recorded leaves the device.

A script supervisor's notes are only useful if they point at a frame. A note that says the second take, near the end, costs the editor ten minutes; a note that says 01:02:14:08 costs nothing. D-REC stamps every line of its transcript with timecode, and the timecode can be the camera's.

Type the slate's timecode into the clock menu at the start of the take and every stamp counts from it, at the frame rate you set: 24, 25 or 30. Change the frame rate later and the same moment reads back correctly, because the slate is kept as what you typed, not as a converted number.

Marks drop at the playhead with one key while the take rolls. Chapters seal every five minutes with a title, so a long day reads as a list rather than a wall. A clip count rides the meter, so how many times the camera rolled is on the screen and in the file.

The notes leave as a CSV with a time-of-day column and a from-the-slate column, as Markdown, and as timeline markers DaVinci Resolve reads by colour. Nothing recorded is uploaded, which is the only kind of recorder a closed set can allow.
