Sound notes with timecode, without another laptop on the cart
Notes on room tone, wild lines and problems land at the frame they happened, as sound markers Resolve reads in green, beside a transcript of the take.
A sound note is a moment: the plane overhead, the wild line after the take, the room tone at the end. D-REC drops a sound note at the playhead with one key, and it lands on the DaVinci Resolve timeline as a green marker at that frame.
Gain is remembered per input, so the lav and the boom keep their own levels between takes. The level meter shows the clip count and clips the moment they happen.
The take's transcript sits beside the notes with the same timecode, so the note and the words it refers to point at one frame.
Everything is recorded and kept on the device. Nothing is uploaded from the set.

Is this a recorder for the mix?
No. It is a notes and reference recorder that transcribes; the production recorder stays the production recorder.
Can the notes use the camera's timecode?
Yes. Type the slate's timecode at the take's start and every note counts from it.
How do the notes reach the edit?
As markers in the Resolve EDL, in green, and as lines in the CSV.
