Live transcription on a Mac, on the Mac
A Mac app that records and transcribes locally, can take the computer's own audio, and exports markers for DaVinci Resolve.
D-REC is a real Mac application, signed and notarized, not a web page in a wrapper pretending otherwise. It records, transcribes as it listens, and keeps everything on the machine.
On the Mac it can also record what the computer itself is playing, so a call, a piece of footage or a recording somebody sent you gets the same timed transcript as a microphone take.
The take is navigable rather than a blob: a scrub wheel that behaves like tape, marks at the playhead, chapters with a short read each, and search across the whole transcript.
It exports text, Markdown, CSV, DaVinci Resolve markers and the audio itself. Updates install themselves; you do not go looking for them.
It is the same app and the same engine as the web and iPhone versions, so a take made in one place reads the same everywhere.
