A Mac app that records and transcribes on the Mac, can record the computer's own audio, and exports markers for DaVinci Resolve.
D-REC for Mac is a signed and notarized Mac app. It records, writes down what is said as it listens, and keeps the recordings and transcripts on the Mac.
It can also record what the Mac itself is playing, so a call, a video or a recording somebody sent you gets the same timed transcript as the microphone.
A recording is easy to move around in: a scrub wheel that works like tape, markers at the playhead, chapters with a short recap each, and search across the whole transcript.
It exports text, Markdown, CSV, DaVinci Resolve markers and the audio itself. Updates install themselves.
It is the same app and the same engine as the web version, and it is free the same way: recordings up to 10 minutes, copying the text and 5 colorways, with no account.
