A Windows app that records and transcribes locally, can capture the PC's own audio, and never uploads a thing.
D-REC on Windows is a signed desktop application that records, transcribes as it goes, and keeps the audio and the words on your PC.
It can record the microphone or the computer's own audio, which is the useful one when what you want written down is already playing: a call, a briefing, a video, a recording somebody sent you.
The transcript is timed and searchable, marks drop with one key, chapters give a long recording a shape, and exports include text, Markdown, CSV, DaVinci Resolve markers and the audio.
Updates arrive through the app itself. There is also a Microsoft Store build for machines where installers are locked down.
Nothing is uploaded at any point, which on a work machine is usually the deciding question.
